Hunter Ceiling Fans 22283 Original Archive Fan - Antique Pewter Cast Iron Classic Indoor Fan 52" Blade Span Review

The fan seems to be of excellent quality and was easy to install. The hanging bracket supplied had to be modified to work with the RACO Heavy Duty support I purchased specifically for this fan. The RACO box was listed as made for "Hunter Original Fans". The only problem I had was balacning the blades on the 2 fans I ordered. Very hard to do!!!!!!They were cheap pieces of plastic and flimsy veneer. Definately not worthy of this fan. I see it has been discontinued which is too bad. It seems that when something good is found some corporate big wig kills it. I can see why it has a lifetime warranty, with the oil bath bearing system the thing will probably not wear out. I would like to purchase 2 more in the next 2 years so hopefully they will be re-instated in the production.

Hunter Fan 22289 42-Inch Classic Original Ceiling Fan, New Bronze Review

It took an electrican 3 to 4 hours simply to replace one Hunter ceiling fan with another.The attaching mechanism was difficult, the shrould was split in two parts.The electrician ended up stripping the screws which tighten the shrould, replaced them with self threading screws, and eventually ended up buying a new shrould from Hunter and installing it with a hand held, not electric, screwdriver.In addition, the shrould would not house the Hunter remote control electronics.This mismatch was not advertised on the pages describing the fan or remote.All in all after installation was complete, we had to bring the electrican back to install a cut off switch for the fan remote electronics, since the fan would go on without us being in the house. This cost us about twice the cost of the fan.The fan is quiet, the remote turns it on andoff , but the overall cost and issues with use are for the birds.
