Ordered 6 halogen bulbs for a ceiling fan fixture because the normal incandescent bulbs kept burning out. They seem to provide a bit more light than the same wattage incandescent. I thought that these bulbs would give off more heat than the others, but to my surprise the fixture feels cooler to the touch than before. Perhaps more energy is going into producing light and less into heat.
