This is a very nice fan. Very quiet and the remote is great. If I had anything to complain about it would be the color of the glass light bowl. When illuminated you see a faint rainbow prism in the glass.

Hunter 27183 Fan/Light Preset Dual Slide Fan/Light Control Review

We installed a ceiling fan/light in our master bedroom as part of a remodel and were able to run the required 3-wire romex to work the fan and light separately from the switchbox. After weeks of work, we installed the Hunter switch as the cherry on top. We were ecstatic. It took a while to get used to the slider switches and the master on/off switch for the preset felt a little chintzy, but we were quickly spoiled by the smooth dimmer and 4-speed fan control. Our joy lasted less than a year. The knob on the fan control broke off. I could now see how the knobs were attached to the sliders and it looks like they are designed to fail: a blade in the back of the knob is pressure-fit into a slot in the thin plastic slider. When you screw down the cover plate on a switch, you expect the job to last for years or decades. This switch lasted only a few months. Very disappointing.

Hunter Fan 18865 60-Inch Limited Edition Ceiling Fan, Midas Black Review

We picked this fan for its looks.We are rebuilding an 1868 victorian and every piece we select has to fit two criteria: fit the spirit of the rehab and be unusual.This product, with its two blades and spherical, rotating motor housing certainly met the criteria.The great surprise is how well built it is.The unit weighs at least 20 lbs due to its cast iron structure, which affords it great stability.It feels like it will still be around in 150 years...It's also very smooth and quiet.The instructions could be a little clearer but with a little thinking, it was easy to assemble in about 20 minutes.

Westinghouse 7877365 Richboro SE 42 Inch Ceiling Fan, Brushed Nickel Finish Review

My wife purchased this fan for our bedroom.Installation was a little confusing, as I wanted to mount it very close to the ceiling and the directions don't really make it clear how to do that, but I figured it out.Once mounted it works fine.It's very quiet (we can only hear the wind noise of the blades) and it barely vibrates (just a tiny bit on high speed).There is a slight buzz, but it would probably only be noticeable in a house that is absolutely silent.We don't have a house like that ... :)

I am planning on buying a few more to match for other rooms in my house.

This 4 light ceiling fan adapter is a great alternative for the commonly supplied 3 light adapter usually provided in ceiling fan kits. As opposed to 180 watts of illumination, which may be inadequate for the area involved, you now get 240 watts of lighting. Even though my Hampton Bay ceiling fan (Home Depot) came with an included 3 light adapter, it was a no-brainer to replace it with this unit. It attached as though it was OEM. Couldn't be happier.

Hunter 82032 Energy Star 110 CFM Bathroom Fan, White Review

We just bought a twenty year old house and its most pressing need was the master bath fan. All three bathrooms have the same old model in them, a very loud and the most basic (and cheap!) fan you could pick up at any home improvement store for twenty or so bucks. Well, the master bath one was on its last legs...and sounded like a jet engine when running, if it even ran when you flicked the switch. It would let the entire house know that the room was in use.
This fan by Hunter exceeded expectations. It is so quiet that I originally thought it wasn't even working after installing and turning it on. I had to get nearer to hear it, and then even tested it with some paper towels (held up to the grill). In fact, the fan is so quiet that it will not "hide unpleasant noises" from the bathroom anymore, so keep that in mind. Trying not to be redundant but this is the quietest bath fan I have ever heard, yet it is strong enough that we finally don't have a steamed window and mirror after using the shower.
Two other points to note are that the grill cover is almost 2 inches longer on all sides than the unit, so it will cover up any mistakes or possible issues nicely. Be aware though that this unit was about 4 inches "taller" (height above the ceiling) than the cheap-o model it replaced.
As one other reviewer mentioned, this model can be installed without access from above, although it may not be as secure.
I highly recommend this bath fan, even for the price.

Dear Consumer,

After installing the fan with light kit and remote it failed to work.Took apart the canopy kit, then the light kit.Power was transmitted down the pipe extension to the remote module.A call to Hunter revealed they were having some problems with the module.

Technical help was good, staffed by Americans, shipped new module which corrected the problem.Very happy with fan performance, trust problem was just a hiccup.Satisfied with the results.

After 5 months, I still love this fan and came back to buy two more. Its only sound is the wind created by the blades when it's on high. It doesn't vibrate. The remote control, which replaces the wall socket and hangs from the place where the wall switch used to be, has five buttons -- high, medium, low, and off for the fan and an on/off toggle button for the light. The remote can be removed from the wall and placed anywhere you need it within easy reach. Hunter 20400 The Bayport 42-Inch Four-Rosewood/Medium Oak-Blades-Ceiling Fan, Antique Brass Review

This was a replacement fan in an RV. Compared to the original, this fan is much more stout, quieter, and moves more air. Instructions were easy to follow, and allowed for three mounting options; tight to ceiling, straight hang, hang from an angled ceiling. A minor problem, that didn't prevent completion of the installation, was that one of the holes in the switch housing was punched incorrectly causing it to sit at an angle. A phone call to Hunter had a new housing on its way, no hassles. While the fan is easy to install for the average do-it-yourselfer, it does require some knowledge of electrical wiring, and some ladder time, thus it may not be a job that everyone would want to tackle.

Hunter Fan 23931 52-Inch Meadow Midnight Copper Ceiling Fan Review

Sometimes, you got to say "What the heck; I can afford it."This is a nice fan.Heavy cast aluminum housing, and, all accenting parts are of a higher end quality than the fans you find at the home improvement warehouses. Mine spins rock steady on a 5' downrod. But, Hunter could afford to add a couple of details/accessories at this price level.A remote control, nice bulbs, and a 24" drop rod would have made it seem 'complete'. Including a remote control would have earned it a 5-star rating from me.

Note: Drop rods are impossible to find, and, few lengths offered, in midnight copper....provencial gold is close, and, a good substitute.

Craftmade WB242SC 42-Inch Warplane Sop with Camel Ceiling Fan with Blades and Integrated Light Kit Review

This is an excellent product, it appears to be of very high quality, its motor runs smoothly and looks great in my hobby room. It is three speed and reversible using the supplied remote control - there is no pull chain despite what the description on the product page says - that would detract from its appearance. The remote control does not appear to be of the same high quality standard but is effective. Perhaps a little too powerful, as another fan in the house, made by a different manufacturer, also (sometimes) responds to its commands! A nice touch is the inclusion of a wall mounting kit for the remote control, so theoretically it should never be misplaced. The light is sufficient to provide background lighting but don't expect to be able to comfortably read by it, the halogen bulb is of the same intensity as an incandescent bulb with a 50 W rating. I would never have thought that a ceiling fan would be a conversation piece, but this one certainly is. Installation was a breeze, as is this fan!

This is a georgous fan, and the photo here does it no justice.If you check around, others that look like this model cost well over $100 more, and often double... we did our research looking at many through numerous websites. If I can post my photo from our home, I will.

I don't know why someone complained about the remote, in our kitchen it works from anywhere in the room.The unit uses the remote to operate the fan and the light... the wall switch will turn both off.A holder for the remote is made to mount over it's wall switch plate.

The fan comes with a halogen light bulb that seems ridiculously low in wattage but the light switch is actually a dimmer control and it can be brightened up to 100W.It took me a couple of days to figure this out.

This hunter model promised a whisper quiet motor. As I've gotten older I feel like I am more noise sensitive.
It was relatively easy to install. It is very heavy. Heavier than the slightly smaller 52-inch unit it replaced.
This wil be difficult for one person to do. I couldn't do it alone. It is just that awkward. It's nice to have
someone to help steady it as you are mounting it.
After the install I found the unit very very quiet. I could not perceive any motor noise coming from the unit.
It has 3 speed settings. setting one is very slow. It is just slowly moving which is good when you just want some air circulating.
Two I use most often. Setting three is fast and I did detect some slight wind noise as the air moved over the fan blades.
I guess that's to be expected. It is not enough to bother a noise freak like me. The blades were perfectly balanced so wobbles detected.
When installing the blades are "flippable" so one sides is a light Oak (?) looking wood and the other is more of a dark walnut looking wood.
So you can chose which look goes better with your decor. It does take the smaller candelabra socket bulbs.
I found two issues that bothered me a bit.
First I bought CFL's that have the candelabra socket. For some reason, perhaps the magnets in the motor, interfered with them and they flickered.
I tried another brand and they also flickered. I use CFLs in another ceiling fan so I'm not sure about this.
It works fine with incandescents but I wanted to try the CFLs. Also it is a remote control fan.
The 3 speeds and light control are on the remote unit. I wish the direction (Air up/down) were on the remote.
So when the seasons change and you want to reverse the fans direction you have to do it from a switch on the fans body.
Since my fan is mounted to a vaulted ceiling this will require pulling out the ladder twice a year.
My other fan has the switch control in the remote. It comes in handy.
Other than that I love this fan and would buy it again.

Hunter 27218 White Energy Efficient Low Profile Light Kit Review

Despite the sketchy instructions, the light kit was easy to install on a Hunter fan that I purchased locally.My guess is that people with little experience with wiring and light fixture installation may need some help from someone who is handy.When I installed the fan I did end up calling Hunter's help line with a wiring question.I was on hold for a long time, but when I did get through, the agent was helpful and knowledgeable. Don't forget that there is a pull-chain switch on the fan itself.I turned on the light at the wall switch, and for a few minutes could not figure out why it didn't work.

Hunter Fan Low-Profile IV Plus Ceiling Fan Review

I am so pleased that I bought this fan for my bedroom.There aren't a lot of nice-looking white fans out there, especially low-profile types with lights, and this came at a nice price.The light is nice- no fluted glass, but it uses small chandelier bulbs which means no CFLs.Too bad. But it does put out a fair amount of light.
The white blends with the ceiling, and the low-profile means that it doesn't vibrate all over the place while the fan is on the highest setting.
The fan works very well, is very quiet, and I am considering buying another for a different room in my house.

Hunter Fan 28121 60-Inch Tribeca Ceiling Fan, Brushed Nickel Review

This is a great looking, quality fan that has a contemporary style without being over the top. With a 3 blade design and compact motor housing, it looks a bit anorexic compared to more traditional fans, but this is not a complaint. Even though it is a large diameter sweep, it does not look overwhelming. The graphite side of the blades is dark and matte (like a chalkboard), while the brushed nickel finishes look much better and brighter in person than in any photo I have seen online- including the dismal picture on this product page.

This particular ASIN (B00083UKUO) includes the light kit. Many other retailers sell it without the kit for about the same price. I'm impressed by the non-fussy appearance, and there is something about the shade of the frosting on the glass globe that compliments the overall contemporary look. There is an option to install the kit without the globe, however this makes the halogen lights very direct and harsh (though it looks cool).

The included remote control, other than being larger than necessary and cheap feel, is full function. You can turn the fan on/off, change speed/direction, and dim the lights.

It comes with a 7" downrod, which will be too short if your ceilings are >9'.

[UPDATE] I said in the review that the light kit is included. It was when I made my purchase, which came from the Amazon *Featured Merchant* Delmar Designs (who delivered quickly in excellent condition). I now see a photo of the remote appears on the product page. This is not the remote that came with my unit and looks better (hopefully!). Also, the instructions really do suck.

Hunter 22435 Sontera Three-Light 52-Inch Five-Blade Ceiling Fan, Antique Brass with Clear Globes Review

As is typical with Hunter fans this one is quiet in operation and looks great.It includes the remote control unit which would run $40 to purchase separately and as such is a great value.

My only issue was that the transmitter for the remote was very difficult to fit into the unit.We had to maneuver everything just so, to get it under the cover and close things up.Other than that, it's great.

Our last Hunter fan lasted 20 years in this location, running on low 24/7, and I expect this fan to do the same.

I followed instructions and called Hunter who said they would ship me a new light fixture; when it arrived they had only shipped the glass globe.I painted the rusty lamp and mounted the fan in my family room where it looks and performs very well; otherwise I would have given it a one star rating.

Hunter 25746 The Grand Isle Four-Light 52-Inch Five-Blade Ceiling Fan, White with Frosted Globes Review

I cannot recommend this product.One week after installation, it's a nightmare.The fan is constantly turning itself up to high speed and turns the lights on anytime it feels like including in the middle of the night (it's in my bedroom).Everyday I turn it off before leaving for work and come home to a fan on high speed with very bright lights.According to Hunter, the remote control is very sensitive to other electronic devices, I not sure I buy that excuse but that's their story and they are sticking to it.Unfortunately you cannot disconnect the remote system because it is built into this fan. The fan is quiet and I really like it otherwise but I prefer my fans to not have a mind of their own.Do a search on other consumer review website and you will find this is a problem for a lot of people who have Hunter remotes.If you really want to give a remote control Hunter fan a try, I recommend buying a model that does not have the remote built it.Buy the remote separately and install it.Then if you incur problems at least you can disconnect it.I wish I had read the reviews on Hunter remotes before purchasing this fan.It's about to have a one week lifespan in my house.For the record, I also have a Casablanca fan with a built in remote and I have had no issues with that one.

I am very disappointed in the product and myself for not doing more thorough research.

Hunter Fans 28531 42" Hudson Traditional Indoor Small New Bronze Ceiling Fan Review

We bought three of these fans and had them installed.We hired an electrician to do the job and he was done in very quick time.

They run very quietly and smoothly with no balancing necessary.We are very impressed.

There are two different wood tones to choose from on each blade- the dark walnut as shown in the Amazon photo and a lighter ash color.The dark blade looks terrific with the dark bronze finish.

Hunter makes a great sturdy reliable fan.One draw back is that it does not come with a remote so we can turn the fan off and on at the switch but if we want to change the speed we have to use the pull chain up on the fan.

Hunter 22461 The Astoria One-Light 52-Inch Five- Blade Ceiling Fan, White with Frosted Globe Review

I wanted this Hunter fan/light for a new sunroom addition to our home. The electrician was due to come and install my lights in a few days, due to an illness I couldn't get out to a major store to select one. The Hunter fan/light arrived within a few days from amazon and was as described. For the money, I believe it to be of good value. The only reason I rated it a 3 was the appearance. I could not tell a lot about the fixture from it's picture. It is quiet and works well.

Hunter 27148 Fan/Light Remote Control Review

My husband and I bought this remote control along with a Hunter Fan, installed it, and ever since, the fan AND light have a mind of their own.At random times during the day and night the fan and/or light or both will turn on for no reason at all.We did a little test where we changed the frequency on the transmitter first to see if that was what was causing the problem.Theoretically the transmitter shouldn't have been communicating with the receiver since they were on separate frequencies.As usual, the fan and light turned on for no reason at all.So, the problem isn't the transmitter alone.Its either a bad receiver or just RF interference.This weekend we're going to change the frequencies on both the transmitter and receiver to see if this works but after reading other reviews on a different model #, this doesn't sound like it'll do the trick.We shall see....Muhhahahhahha.

This is simply the nicest fan I have ever seen. We wanted something unique for our master bedroom after we raised our ceiling and this put the final touches on our remodel project. A month later, I raised the ceiling in my mother's master bedroom and she bought the same fan and loves it as much as we do. With the amber cover, don't expect a lot of light output with this fan. It is not our primary source of light in that room so it isn't an issue for us. With Hunter fans, you can always count on them being as quiet and reliable as any on the market. Highly recommended.

During our first bathroom renovation I purchased what I thought was a good fan and it was way too loud. Pulled it out and purchased this one. Has turned out to be just perfect. Extremely quiet but it's 'just' loud enough to know it's on and I like that.

We're now redoing our second bathroom and will get another one of these. Don't forget to calculate your bathroom CFM (LxWxH ÷ 7.5) so you know what size to purchase.

Hunter Fan 23921 54-Inch St. Moritz Ceiling Fan with Teak Blades, Weathered Bronze Review

A very pleasant looking and well-functioning fan. Runs smoothly on all settings and the light with 2-60 watt bulbs and standard bases is a definite plus. Only thing is: Why would the fan gods allow such cheap bead pulls for the switches? The joiners are plastic and are hardly adequate. Oh well, kept them from getting 5 stars. Always room for improvement

Minka-Aire Fans F803-MP 58" Artemis Contemporary Maple Ceiling Fan w/ Light, Wall Ctrl & Blades Review

The fan is fine, but from all the pictures, the text, and the price, you would think it was made of formed plywood (think Eames).But NO.The fan blades are molded plastic painted to look like wood.They did a nice job with the painting, but it's still plastic.

On opening the box, I felt I'd been tricked.

Hunter 20511 Savoy 52-Inch 5-Blade Ceiling Fan, Antique Pewter with Black/Cherry Blades Review

There is not much more to say about this fan beyond what I have indicated in the title of this review. Perhaps, however, a bit of elaboration is in order.
A comprehensive and easy to follow manual made the installation of this fan a breeze! The apartment in which we installed the fan was already wired for just such a device, so that was not a concern for us and I cannot address that issue except to say that the aforementioned manual does cover the topic of finding and preparing the right space for your fan. With a space already prepared for ours, it took us just under two hours to complete the actual assembly - including wiring and installation.
The fan, with three speed settings and reversible air flow, has kept us cool through the torrid Florida summer and remains quiet as a whisper as it delivers its soothing zephyrs.
The blades are reversible, offering a choice of basic white or faux oak.
No light fixtures here if that's what you're looking for. Just an efficient fan that has proved, for this user at least, a quality product.
