This was a replacement unit for one that was 15 years old. The old unit was in perfect condition, except that the white plastic fan cover had discolored over the years and became somewhat brittle. We remodeled and replaced the old unit, but we moved the old unit to another bathroom in the basement and it was off and running again. The discolored grill didn't much matter because this bathroom is rarely used - if I had my way we would not have replaced it - but my wife insisted since we were having everything "new" in the new room.
